Domestic Missions
Flights for Christ has been able to provide some domestic compassion flights over the past few years to people who might not be able to travel by any other means due to health, finances, etc.
Our first compassion flight occurred in 2011 from Mt. Vernon, Illinois to Valdosta, Georgia transporting an elderly woman in order for her to be with her son-in-law who had terminal cancer. This woman was able to be with her daughter and son-in-law for the last 10 days of his battle with the disease.
Below are just some of our past flights as we continue to serve....
February 2015: Flights for Christ was able to transport an elderly gentlemen with health issues back home to Southern Illinois from Florida. This trip was a blessing in many ways and we are grateful for the opportunity.
November 2014: We were blessed to once again be able to share about Flights for Christ at the International Conference on Missions in Columbus, Ohio. We met many new people and visited with friends interested in serving our Savior, Jesus Christ!
July & October 2014: We continue to assist Angel Flight with with medical flights. We were blessed to help our repeat passenger, Margie, travel from her home in Kentucky to Mayo Clinic in Minnesota and back home. Please pray for Margie. Besides the many physical and medical issues she is dealing with, she has seen the passing of her mother, father, sister and husband within the past year and a half.
April 2014: We were asked to be a part of the Big Overnighter at Oil Belt Christian Service Camp (www.oilbelt.com) in Flora, IL as one of the Missions areas. We were blessed to be able to have Volner Alexandre from Christ's Freedom for Haiti join us in sharing with over 200 3rd, 4th and 5th graders about life in Haiti.
November 2013: We traveled to Kansas City for the International Conference on Missions as a first time exhibitor. We were able to speak with several people about our ministry and made contact with Missionaries we have previously supported, as well as some new Ministries we hope to be able to assist soon. ICOM is always a blessing to attend!
June 2013: We had the opportunity to share information about our ministry on our local Christian radio station, 90.9 The Vine (www.wvyn.org). As part of the morning show question of the day, we gave away a sight-seeing flight to the winner. It was a blessing to share this with Lindsey and Bob Bullard and their family!
April 2013: Flights for Christ periodically assists with Angel Flights - transporting people with medical needs to specialized treatment facilities. We were able to assist in transportating a patient from her home in Kentucky to Mayo Clinic in Minnesota. We have been blessed to transport this couple several times now and it is always a pleasure!
